I have a hobby which is taking pictures that are liminal. But what exactly is liminal?

According to wikipedia, a liminal space is a “space between one state and another”. That doesn’t help much.

Liminal pictures are basically images that give you a sense of unease or anxiety while not having anything actually bad/scary in them. Liminal pictures can give you negative nostalgia (bad memories) of events that never existed!

Here is a basic guide on how to make a liminal image:

1. No people (or very few)
2. Usually dark, or dimly lit
3. With no other option than to go forward.
4. Giving an overall sense of unease and primal fear.

Here is an example:

I get it, liminality can be hard to grasp and frankly for some people, liminal pictures do not give any emotions, but if you are like me and millions of other people, the pictures in this thread will.

Please post pictures that you took.
