Indeed. The E-145 and smaller sisters are significantly more comfortable than any CRJ. Their cockpits are also cooler

Bomabrdier has sold 1,945 CRJ aircraft where as Embraer has only sold 1,200 ERJs. 700 aircraft is a big difference, so I wouldn’t go saying that they failed if I were you. While I do think that ERJ > CRJ, CSeries is still better than the E2.
But what about the E-Jets? You see the larger CRJs (-700, -900 and -1000) competed better against the E-Jet and not the ERJ. ERJ-145 competes with CRJ-200
Embraer has sold 1,566 E-Jets, and I can’t find a number for E145s (not including 135s and 140s as they didn’t line up with the CRJ size).
Wikipedia says 924 of the newer CRJs against 1573 E-Jets with 156 deliveries remaining. And 1231 ERJs against 1021 CRJs of the original series. So Embraer is better
