Tarmac is a building material, therefore you can’t say, for example, ‘the plane is on the tarmac’ because it will be like saying that ‘the plane is on the asphalt’.

Also since tarmac is a relatively weak material, it can no longer be used in airports due to the weight of modern jet aircraft.

Saab was first, EMB has T tail
Each one has unique things about it

The Saab 340 looks good (visually), performance wise, it’s OK

The E120 also looks good and is more powerful, has more range, and is faster

That pretty much explains my choice.
