If it doesn’t have an M1 chip, then don’t fly long hauls. My old iPad Air would crash on flights longer than 9 hours, either above the airport or on final. The only thing I really could do to combat it is keep Infinite Flight the only app running and restart the device before doing long hauls. Even then, it would still crash, so… do what you will.

Oh I already know it’s fine because I have done 15 hour flights no problem, I just thought I would push myself a little further
